We are thrilled to announce that Melissa Kushner, our Founder and Executive Director, has been named “Young Entrepreneur of the Year” by the World Entrepreneurship Forum.  On October 26, the U.S. Ambassador to France, Charles Rivkin presented Melissa with the award in Lyon, France.  Melissa addressed hundreds of entrepreneurs from all over the world at the award ceremony.

Melissa was recognized for her vision and commitment to social justice.  Past award winners include Sir Fazle H. Abed, Founder of BRAC and William Drayton, Founder of Ashoka.  An entrepreneur in her own right, Melissa also teaches and inspires community leaders in Malawi to become entrepreneurs themselves as they launch and run small businesses to support orphans in their villages.  Click here to see some of her acceptance speech.
