President Bingu Leads in the Polls BINGU LEADS IN POLLS

According to official figures, Malawian President Bingu wa Mutharika leads the polls by a wide margin. While the final result of the election has not officially been declared, Bakili Muluzi, former president and supporter of wa Murharika’s opponent John Tembo, has acknowledged wa Mutharika as the winner.

The Malawi Electoral Commission said wa Mutharika had 335,752 votes compared to rival Tembo’s 78,203.
