Dr. Linda Stone Provides a Dental Hygiene Workshop and Dental Examinations for 130 Orphans

In addition to providing material support to orphans, Goods for Good is also committed to creating opportunities to improve the health and welfare of the children we serve. Dr. Linda Stone, a dentist and good friend of Goods for Good, traveled to Malawi from her home in New Jersey to share her skills, knowledge, resources and time with 130 orphans living at St. Mary’s Rehabilitation Centre. She was accompanied by her daughter Vanna and her husband Michael and together they helped the children learn the importance of oral hygiene and the best ways to maintain a healthy and happy smile. Dr. Stone and her family also donated toothbrushes, toothpaste, floss, oral hygiene booklets and educational toys. This program was not only fun for Dr. Stone, her family and the children, it met an important need for St. Mary’s. There are few dentists in Malawi and St. Mary’s has not been able to access them in the past. With Dr. Stone’s assistance, St. Mary’s was able to assess the dental needs of all of their children. Goods for Good is incredibly grateful to Dr. Stone and her family for their generosity!
